Genesis of Dragons by Charlotte Murphy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fantastic book! Highly recommend! Definitely makes my top 10 indie reads of this year. Love, betrayal, action, power, sacrifice, magic & Dragons! What more do you need?
When I read the title, I knew I had to get this book. I love reading any book with dragons in it. But this book is the epic of all epics. It takes the reader into a world where dragons are not just larger-than-life creatures used in warfare or witchcraft. They are intelligent and powerful beyond anything ever imagined before. They are tied to human bloodlines through an invisible bond that is beyond just master and servant. Actually loved that part!! It makes total sense. Why would a highly intelligent magical being obey a mere human without question?
The plot-line is awesome. One man, full of hatred for dragons, and one woman, seeking ultimate power, team together on a journey to destroy the last of the dragons. Although it\’s got rather sad backstories and plot twists, the superb ending left me feeling all warm and happy inside.
The dialogues are crisp, satirical and yet so logical, resonate with emotion. The characters are all fantasy and yet real people that you can actually relate to. The world-building is pure brilliant. Nothing like I\’ve ever read before!!
This book can be read as standalone. But after reading it, I definitely want to read the rest of the series – The Antonides Legacy.
