Allmother Rising by Elexis Bell

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was not dark enough for me. But the sizzling romance & magical adventures & superb plotline kept me glued. Very quick & enjoyable read. Loved it! 4.5 stars from me because I feel there\’s still a fair amount of unexplored potential in the story.

The cover sold me. It shows the allflower & the silver paste used in the petitioning ceremony to the Allmother. Its beautiful!!

The story begins slow & lacks the amount of tension that I had expected considering that an entire royal family is murdered & another royal family is being threatened. But it focuses on the meeting of the main love interests, which was so exciting! Plus, Veliana turns some assassins into trees. That was super awesome! I want that power. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ช

Veliana is wonderful. Her powers are mind-blowing! Tyrvahnn seems a bit too naive for a prince of a technologically advanced kingdom. The Allmother reminds me of the gods in Hindu mythology. She\’s all powerful but cannot directly influence the human realm & depends on her believers to keep her faith strong. Garle & Kivala bring tension & action into a masterful storyline.

Midway the book picks up pace really fast. The ending is full of action. I recommend this book to all high fantasy & romance lovers.
