Blurb: You lost my Mercedes in another dimension. Grace White lives a beautiful life full of garden parties and priceless jewelry… dangerous, supernatural jewelry that is. Stewarding the treasures inherited from her Whitmere ancestors comes with its own surprises: Zombies, Vampires, mythological creatures, and an old family enemy back from the dead. On top of it all, it\’s wedding season and Grace is the mother of the bride. It\’s the ultimate dilemma for this middle-aged mama. Does she have the baking skills necessary to create the wedding cake of the year while also crushing evil with her martial arts skills, or is the wedding and humanity doomed?

Another must-read installment in a superb paranormal thriller series. I loved it!! Although it\’s the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

The story returns to the Whitmere mansion with all the best characters and the added intrigue of ancient family histories across time and space that connects all of them together in a way that no one could have imagined. The pace is always balanced, never slowing down. Yet, towards the end of the book it gets even more fast and thrilling. The final chapter ends with a clever cliffhanger that makes you want to read the 3rd installment right away.

The world building is spectacular even in a contemporary setting. The descriptions of the food, the luxurious lifestyles and the hidden treasures in different locations make for a brilliant backdrop to a fantastic story.

As usual, all the female characters exude immense wit and power. Each has their own set of worries, special skills, preferences and affinity to the magical gemstones. If you ever wanted to read a book that empowers women, then this one should be on your TBR list.

The male characters are equally strong and resilient. While everyone is trying to save eachother they also hold their own with determination. This is the kind of narrative I love reading. No damsels in distress or anything like that.

Additionally, there\’s no end of paranormal creatures – vampires, zombies, monsters, mummies, etc. Everyone and everything commands style and charm. Truly enjoyable story. Highly recommend.

The Whitmere Legacy: Inheritance by Donna White

Blurb: It\’s SoCal meets southern charm! This satisfying story is a choice bit of mystery with a side of horror and lightened with a touch of humor. Grace White inherits a stake in her extended family\’s elegant life of art and architecture. In return, she bears the burden of safekeeping dangerous artifacts with supernatural powers, and dealing with the sinister past of a distant ancestor. Along the way, she meets ordinary people who test their martial arts skills against the undead, attempt to thwart psychopaths who want to wreak havoc on the world, and still find time to match the color of the petit fours to the delicate shade of wisteria of the debutante\’s gowns.

I love reading books about haunted mansions. The whole idea of an ancient castle full of spooky things probably brings out the child in me. Lol. So, when I picked up this book, I knew I would love it. What I didn\’t expect is that this book is so much more! The author cleverly strings together a delightful mystery plotline to a paranormal romance genre. And I do love a good mystery!

Firstly, this book is all about woman power. Most of the women in the story have some remarkable secret ability, which is cleverly foreshadowed in the beginning of the book.

Secondly, this book is all about Grace – apparently an average woman living with her family in Southern California – who inherits the centuries-old Whitmere mansion & a secret, supernatural legacy from her uncle Arthur. Grace is anything but happy about this inheritance. She knows that an evil presence haunts the house & it wants to kill her. For the sake of her family, she must destroy it. But she doesn\’t even know how until she finally faces her own fears & realises her true powers. I Iaughed & cried with Grace throughout the book. She\’s such a kind & wonderful heroine, despite all her fears & stress.

Lastly, this book is all about people who live in style, exquisite architecture & the residents of Riverbend. My favorite character is the housekeeper, Shannon, who surprises you with her outstanding personality. Plus, there are vampires, monsters, secret vaults, magical artifacts, dangerous lakes, and much much more. If you love a good paranormal romance with a touch of mystery & historical setting, then this book is perfect for you!!
